Here comes another movie on arrange marriages! After VIVAAH did well at the box office, the makers of TANU WEDS MANU might have thought that they too, should conceptualize on a similar concept. However, they strike differently because apparently the movie is about the union of two very different individuals. The film is based on the funda of opposites getting attracted to each other.TANU WEDS MANU will release this Friday. It stars Kangna Ranaut and R Madhavan as Tanuja Trivedi (Tanu) and R Madhavan as Manoj Sharma (Manu). The NRI Manu is a life partner that every girl or at least her parents dream about! He is an avid reader, shy, intelligent and smart guy. Unlike most NRI men, Manu does not like loud music and crowded places.
He is looking forward to marry a homely girl from India, so that she could get along with his parents too. Tanu on the other hand is completely opposite than what Manu is searching for. Tanu is a beautiful extrovert girl from Kanpur, who hates arrange marriages. She lives life on her own will and hates being told what to do.
Shockingly for any parents-in-law, she loves riding a bike, alcohol and Che Guevara! But don’t be surprised if Tanu and Manu fall in love with each other. After all, that is when the idea of “opposites attract” makes sense!
Maddy admits that playing Manu has been the toughest challenge for him so far, while Kangna too has changed her shade to play a bubbly lady, instead of her usual dukhi aatma!
What happens to the fate of TANU WEDS MANU will be revealed only on February 25. But it does look like that the concept of arranged marriage is put forth interestingly.
